Behind the Scenes of b-side
by Portland Museum
On Thursday 7th March at 3pm, Portland Museum is hosting ‘Behind the Scenes of b-side’ at the Peter Trim Hall at the St. George’s Centre, Reforne, Easton. We are over the moon to be hosting b-side director, Rocca Holly-Nambi. As well as directing b-side, they were the British Council’s Head of Arts East Africa, and Director of Arts Sub-Saharan Africa. They also co-founded 32° East | Ugandan Arts Trust in Kampala, Uganda. They have an MA in Contemporary Art Theory at Edinburgh College of Art and is currently studying towards a practice-based PhD in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Ever wondered how the incredible art pieces showcased throughout the b-side festival come to be? How does the island offer continuous inspiration to a multitude of artists and art forms? Rocca will be exploring the behind the scenes process of a multitude of art pieces that span many different mediums yet are connected by one important thing: This wonderful island!
Rocca’s talk will be illustrated with a wonderful multitude of images showcasing art pieces, the process of creating them and the inspiration behind them.
Tickets to our talks are £5.00 or £3.50 for Friends of Portland Museum.
