On Wednesday 17th April at 3pm at the Peter Trim Hall, St. George’s Centre, Reforne, Portland Museum is hosting ‘Some Portland Spring Plants: How Herbalists Use Them’ by Andrew Cowling.
Andrew Cowling studied herbal medicine at the School of Phytotherapy/Herbal Medicine from 1990 to 1994, when he graduated as a herbalist.
He then began practising in London and has worked on Portland since moving here in 1997.
He subsequently trained as a hypnotherapist and craniosacral therapist although now only practises as a herbalist.
He has researched and written ‘A Portland Herbal’ which describes the many herbs growing on Portland used by modern herbalists as well as herbs which for various reasons have fallen into disuse.
He is a Fellow of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists, oldest professional association for herbalists, founded in 1864.
