Coronation Event at Portland Museum
by Portland Museum
Portland Museum is delighted to announce that on Saturday 6th May we will be holding a special event as part of this year’s coronation celebrations.
Taking place throughout the day, visitors will be invited to join us in some festive fun to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. We will be screening the Coronation ceremony throughout the day in Avice’s Cottage and there will be a range of coronation themed crafts, a Royal ‘Eye Spy’, fossil painting for kids, and lots of lovely refreshments.
The museum will be open as usual and charging the standard entrance fees – but don’t forget we’re free for Islanders!
If you’d like to join in the fossil painting sessions then do drop us a line using the details below. Although the day’s crafts are free, this particular craft costs £5.00 and is proving exceptionally popular, so you’d be helping us out if you could let us know in advance if this is something you and your children would like to take part in.
You can contact us at [email protected] or call 01305 821804.
Admission to the museum is free to Portlanders (upon proof of residency) thanks to a generous grant from Portland Town Council. For visitors, admission prices are: Adults £4.95, 6 – 16 £1.00, Under 5s free, Family ticket £10.00, Friends of Portland Museum, free.
Our current opening times are Wednesday – Sunday, 10:30 am – 4:00 pm (last entry 3:30 pm). We are also open on bank holidays.
