The Battle of Britain over Swanage, 1940

On Thursday 25th September at 2:30 – 4pm at the C2000 Hall, Easton, Portland Museum is hosting ‘The Battle of Britain over Swanage, 1940’ presented by John Smith.
The Battle of Britain was a pivotal air campaign during World War II and saw the R.A.F. defend the southern coast against German Luftwaffe. John Smith uses a ‘show and explain’ format with replica aircrafts of the types used in aerial action over Swanage. As well as aircraft, this talk will feature other aspects of the Battle of Britain such as the Purbeck Radar Observer Posts, Anti-aircraft guns and Air Sea Rescue.
