‘The Most Remarkable Spot’ The Histories of St Andrew’s Church and Rufus Castle
In partnership with Historic England Architectural Investigator, Johanna Roethe, Portland Museum will shortly be hosting a talk and Q&A session entitled ‘The Most Remarkable Spot’ The Histories of St Andrew’s Church and Rufus Castle.
Taking place at the C2000 hall in Easton Square on Friday September 30th at 3:00pm, the presentation will be approximately one hour long.
As part of Historic England’s Southwest Partnership Team, Johanna has recently undertaken extensive research into St. Andrew’s Church and churchyard and Rufus Castle. Historic England and their local partners are working to improve the condition and interpretation of the two sites.
Much loved, written about and illustrated by artists and visitors from the past to the present day, this is an opportunity to discover new histories about two of the island’s most talked about sites. We advise early booking and payment by contacting [email protected]. Tickets are £5.00 or £3.50 for Friends of Portland Museum members.
