See the first 3D image from the Earl of Abergavenny collection
by Portland Museum
The first 3D image produced by our volunteers on the Diving into the Digital Archives of the Earl of Abergavenny project is now available to view here
You can view and manipulate the deadeye from the shipwreck, read the accompanying information, and watch the great video that we made about it with Mark Beattie-Edwards from our partner organisation, NAS.
There will be more images of finds from the shipwreck of the Earl of Abergavenny appearing regularly on our new Sketchfab site so do check our social media sites for regular updates.
Our team of volunteers on the National Lottery funded Diving into the Digital Archives of the Earl of Abergavenny project are working hard to catalogue, 3D image and condition assess the finds from the Earl of Abergavenny shipwrieck and having great fun in the process. The work produced by the volunteers will make a large part of the Earl of Abergavenny collection available to view by anyone anywhere in the world. Pop back here in the summer to see how you can be involved with the project when Phase 2 begins in the autumn of 2022.
The Diving into the Digital Archives of the Earl of Abergavenny project is funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund and made possible with volunteer training support from partners MSDS Marine Ltd and the Nautical Archaeology Society.
